Invite your MP to Show Us You Care

“Social care is absolutely essential for me to live independently, work and have a good quality of life. It keeps me safe and well, and gives me freedom to go out, have hobbies, and see friends.

I have a degenerative condition, but my most recent care assessment resulted in a £400 weekly reduction. I feel like my care is treated as a luxury rather than a basic requirement. Local councils just don’t have enough funding to provide suitable care packages to enable a good quality of life for disabled people.”

- Jack

3.5 million people like Jack aren’t getting the care and support they need.

It’s time for all MPs to work together and commit to creating a future for social care that works for everyone who needs it.

The Government has just launched an independent commission into social care. It's a really important opportunity. If we act now, we can help shape the future of social care.

That’s why we’re inviting MPs to join us in parliament on 3 July 2025 at our Show Us You Care event.

At the event, MPs will hear from Jack and other older people, disabled people and carers who live the reality of social care every day – the good, the bad, and the urgent need for change. They will learn about the state of social care in your local area, and how they can champion social care in parliament with help from the Care and Support Alliance of 60+ member charities.

Together, we can show politicians how important social care is – and give them the tools they need to make change happen.
